The view on a dull, cloudy day from the top of a small hill just north of the Apache Trail about half way between Canyon Lake and Tortilla Flat. The lake is visible to the west, while to the south the road is bordered by rocky hills at the edge of the Superstition Wilderness. The valley in the east is formed by Tortilla Creek, which follows the trail for several miles before turning away into the mountains.
