Belgian Pool is one of the prettier features of the Sawmill Group; a deep, circular vent of clear, pale blue water, extending westwards to a shallower pool lined by orange and brown algae. The water is cooler than many nearby features, at around 80°C, though still more than hot enough to cause the death of a park visitor from Belguim, on July 3rd 1929, after which the spring received its name. The individual fell into the pool while distracted by the eruption of nearby Castle Geyser and suffered 50% burns.
