From the 7,185 foot peak on the south side of Granite Mountain, the view encompasses many square miles of the Prescott National Forest and lower elevation land beyond. To the east, beyond the main summit, is the town of Prescott and the lower end of Chino Valley, with the Black Hills on the horizon and Granite Basin Lake in the foreground. Little Granite Mountain rises to the south, partially hiding the more distant Sugarloaf Mountain. The land falls away to the southwest, towards Skull Valley, while the northern aspect is dominated by the high granite ridge forming the north side of the mountain.
