Chino Valley is a dispersed community spread out along 8 miles of Hwy 89 - 15 miles north of Prescott and 34 miles south of I-40 - at a moderate elevation of 4,700 feet but within sight of mountains to the west and east. Facilities are limited to a few restaurants and small shops, with one supermarket (Safeway), at the intersection of Hwy 89 with W Road 2 N. Nearby natural attractions include Granite Mountain (19 miles) and Watson Lake (12 miles).
