Parker is a small town at the west edge of Arizona along the Colorado River at the intersection of Hwy 95 with Hwy 62 from Twentynine Palms, California. The former road leads north to Lake Havasu City and south to Quartzsite; like these two cities, Parker enjoys a hot desert climate, temperatures commonly exceeding 110°F during the three months of summer, and pleasantly mild in winter. The town center is small, and visitor facilities limited, though there are a reasonable selection of restaurants and small shops in the downtown area, along Kofa and Joshua avenues. Two supermarkets (Wal-Mart and Safeway) are located on the east edge of town on Riverside Drive, near the municipal airport.
