The view over the surrounding Sonoran Desert land stretches 360° from the rocky summit of 4,687 foot Wasson Peak at the end of the Hugh Norris Trail in Saguaro National Park. To the south are other slightly less tall peaks in the Tucson Mountains, with the Santa Cruz Valley and the city of Tucson stretching into the distance to the east. In the north, the unpaved Golden Gate Road winds over the desert in the north of the park, towards Panther Peak & Safford Peak, while to the west, beyond Amole Peak, is the Avra Valley and distant hills of the Ironwood Forest National Monument.
