Calistoga Hotels

The Backyard Resort is the most unusual hotel in Calistoga, established in 1952 by Dr Jon Wilkinson, as a wellness destination, featuring mud baths and a pair of spring-fed mineral pools. Some of the design and decor from this age is retained following a recent refurbishment, and adoption into Marriott's Design Hotels, a collection of individual, boutique properties. The pools and mudbaths are still available, plus massage rooms, a steam room, aromatherapy treatment room and a peaceful garden, with pool, outdoor spa treatment area, and a 'cold water bucket experience'. The onsite restaurant, House of Better, serves Southwestern-style dishes, for breakfast, lunch & dinner. The hotel is situated along Hwy 29, the main north-south road through Calistoga.

The 55 room UpValley Inn of Calistoga offers quiet lodgings in a countryside setting, surrounded by trees and landscaped gardens, and bordering the farmland on the east side of town. The location is 1865 highway 29, just south of the Silverado Trail junction and within walking distance of various shops & restaurants. The nearest of the many vineyards of Napa Valley is a mile to the south. The two story hotel, part of the Ascend Collection, has a courtyard and outdoor pool (heated by a natural spring), sauna & steam room, and a dining area where free hot breakfast is served. Guests have use of a local spa, less than a mile away.

At the north end of Napa Valley, Best Western Stevenson Manor Inn has a peaceful, rural location on the east side of Calistoga with views across fields to the wooded hills that surround the town - the hotel is located at 1830 Lincoln Ave (highway 29, one block from the junction with the Silverado Trail), half a mile from restaurants and shops in the downtown area. This is a small hotel but clean and comfortable, with 32 spacious rooms on 2 floors, in one block adjoining an outdoor, heated, tree-lined pool. Other amenities are free deluxe continental breakfast, steam room, hot tub, and a microwave/refrigerator in each room. Apart from the many local wineries, one unusual attraction just 1.7 miles from the hotel is Calistoga's Old Faithful geyser, which erupts regularly every half hour.
