Hotels in Capistrano Beach

Open late 2024, the Riviera Beach Resort is a large oceanfront property, extending 500 feet along the Coast Highway. West-facing rooms have spectacular views of the Pacific, separated from it only by the road, a railway and a parking lot. The hotel has a hot tub and two palm tree-lined pools, also with beach views, plus a games room and a fitness center. There are several restaurants close by, in what is generally a residential area. The nearest shops are half a mile west, on the far side of Hwy 1.

Best Western Dana Point Inn has a fine location along the Coast Highway, facing the Pacific Ocean - just a couple of minutes walk from the clean sands of Doheny State Beach (albeit across one railway track). The hotel is quite small, offering 29 rooms, with views either out to sea or over the central courtyard garden; all are modern, clean and welcoming, equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, wet bar & coffee maker; some have a whirlpool bath, fireplace and/or balcony. At the front of the building, a second floor rooftop hot tub and sundeck provides a fine place to relax and enjoy the ocean views. Free continental breakfast is served. The Best Western is situated in the town of Capistrano Beach, 2 miles east of Dana Point and 1.5 miles from interstate 5 (exit 79).
