The Travelodge motel faces I-5 at exit 732 (Siskiyou Avenue), in the thickly wooded valley of the Sacramento River, 2 miles north of the center of Dunsmuir and 6 miles south of the larger town of Mount Shasta. There are two waterfalls within walking distance - Hedge Creek Falls and Mossbrae Falls, and much more spectacular scenery nearby including Castle Crags State Park. The motel has a secluded setting, lined by trees, and it shares the parking lot with a 24 hour diner. Rates are low, reflecting the limited amenities, just free w-fi, a fitness center and coin-operated laundry. Guest rooms contain a microwave and a refrigerator.
