The main hotel in the small city of Port Hueneme, facing the Pacific Ocean on the south side of Oxnard, is the 135 room/suite Holiday Inn Express, located right in the town center just one block from the beach, the harbor and the naval base. A selection of restaurants and shops are within walking distance, plus several city parks. The hotel provides good quality free breakfast buffet including a selection of hot items; other amenities are an outdoor pool, fitness center, 24 hour business center and meeting space for up to 90 people. Guest rooms contain a microwave and refrigerator; some (the one bed suites) have a full kitchenette.

The Casa Via Mar Inn has a prominent location at the intersection of Patterson Road with Channel Islands Boulevard, just across from Naval CBC Port Hueneme, 1 mile from the harbor and 2 miles from the nearest beach. The hotel provides free hot breakfast and free wi-fi. Leisure amenities are an outdoor pool, a fitness center, and, more unusually, five tennis courts; also available are a business center and a convenience store. Accommodations are on two floors, accessed by exterior corridors, and they include a selection of one-bedroom balcony suites.
