The newest hotel in Porterville, CA, is the 69 room/suite Holiday Inn Express, situated 2two blocks east of the CA 190/65 junction on the south edge of town, set back slightly from the main road. Nearby locations include Porterville College, Porterville Golf Course, the municipal airport and Lake Success - 7 miles east in the Sierra Nevada foothills. The main amenities are free breakfast (including a few hot items), an outdoor pool and a fitness center. All the good sized accommodations contain a microwave and refrigerator. There are several restaurants within two blocks.

On the south edge of Porterville, the Best Western hotel has a quiet location in a mixed neighborhood of fields, houses and a few businesses, along CA 190 (Poplar Avenue), which a few miles east starts to climb into the southern foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, and the new Giant Sequoia National Monument. The inn serves free full breakfast and is adjacent to a 24 hour Denny's restaurant, while for other dining choices there are more restaurants in downtown Porterville a mile or so northwards. All 115 rooms contain a microwave, refrigerator, ironing facilities & coffee/tea maker; they have views either of the central quadrangle with pool and gardens, or over the flat farmland at either side of the hotel.
