The main facilities at the 68 room hotel are an outdoor pool, whirlpool, free breakfast, guest laundry, business center and meeting space.

Open summer 2017, the second Marriott hotel in San Marcos is the Fairfield Inn, an affordable, brightly decorated, 116 room property that offers all the expected amenities including free buffet breakfast, free wi-fi, a fitness center & outdoor pool. The hotel is part of a small development near the center of San Marcos, at the Twin Oaks Valley Road exit of Hwy 78; a generally built-up area with apartments, shops and restaurants, though close to undeveloped land beside San Marcos Creek. Guest rooms have views of wooded hills to the north and south, and there are several parks and preserves within a few miles, including Elfin Forest and Lake Moree.

Days Inn San Marcos occupies an older building of two storys and exterior corridors. All guest rooms are equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, digital safe, hair dryer & coffee maker, while the hotel also offers free breakfast, an indoor pool and guest laundry. There are plenty of restaurants close by along the main road through town (San Marcos Boulevard), and various large stores including Home Depot and Lowe's. Highway 78 runs right past the hotel, connecting with I-15 and I-5 for easy travel to downtown San Diego, 30 miles south.
