The largest hotel in Whittier is the full service DoubleTree, with eight floors and 202 rooms, including junior suites with over twice the floorspace than standard rooms, and one or two bed executive suites featuring a kitchen and extra living area. Other features are a 24 hour fitness center, outdoor pool, business center, lounge/bar, complimentary five mile radius shuttle service, and meeting space for up to 400 people. All day dining is available from the on-site Sophia's Californian Bistro, which also provides room service. The hotel has a peaceful location in a largely residential neighborhood along Greenleaf Avenue, half a mile from Whittier College and 2.5 miles from I-605.

The Travelodge has a secure central parking lot, mostly shielded from the road by the accommodation blocks, which extended around four sides.
