Ryan Mountain rises over 1,000 above the flat Mojave Desert plains towards the west side of Joshua Tree National Park, and its summit may be reached by a fairly easy 1.5 mile trail. The view from the top includes Lost Horse Mountain and the more distant Little San Bernadino Mountains to the south, Lost Horse Valley to the west and the Wonderland of Rocks to the north. The summit has scattered examples of Joshua trees and banana yucca.
