A panorama from Green Butte, a steep promontory formed by an ancient lava extrusion at 9,193 feet on the south face of Mount Shasta. The viewpoint is reached by a 2 mile walk from the end of the Everett Memorial Highway and looks out over countless square miles of the Shasta National Forest to the south and west. In the other direction, the summit of Mt. Shasta rises a further 5,000 feet.
