This view is from a triangular plateau at 12,800 feet, just north of the summit of Mt Gould - reached by a 5 mile hike from the Onion Valley trailhead in the eastern Sierra Nevada. To the north is a long valley containing three glacial ponds and the more distant Rae Lakes, all within Kings Canyon National Park. The other directions have numerous peaks and scree slopes, near and far.
