Central Corpus Christi Hotels

The DoubleTree hotel of north Corpus Christi has quite a spectacular location right on the beachfront (Golf Place Beach Park); east-facing rooms have great views not only of Corpus Christi Bay but also of USS Lexington, permanently moored just 800 feet south. Also just a short walk away is Texas State Aquarium, while the many attractions of the city center are a couple of miles drive over Harbor Bridge (US 181). Special hotel features include private balconies for all rooms, a swim-up cabana bar and a large outdoor pool bordering the sandy beach. All accommodations contain a microwave & refrigerator, while some have additional amenities like a sofa bed or whirlpool bath. The onsite restaurant/bar provides all-day dining and evening drinks.

The Holiday Inn is a full service, 20 story hotel with a spectacular setting in downtown Corpus Christi right on the bayfront, adjacent to the marina and 4 blocks from the end of I-37. The 334 rooms face north or south so all have at least a partial view of the water. Numerous restaurants & bars are within walking distance; on-site choices are the Coastline Cafe, open all day and also overlooking the bay, and Terrace Lounge, a lobby bar. The hotel has a large rooftop pool on the sunny south side, part outdoor, part indoor, surrounded by plenty of seating and sunbathing space, and served by a poolside bar. Meetings and events are catered for by 4 rooms totaling 12,260 sq ft.

Only a road and a coastal park stand between the Residence Inn and Corpus Christi Bay - the all-suite, extended stay hotel has a prime location along Shoreline Boulevard, a few blocks south of the city center in a relatively quiet, lightly developed neighborhood. Open late 2019, the five story hotel offers suites in two bedroom, one bedroom and studio floorplans, and all include a fully equipped kitchen. Daily hot breakfast is complimentary, as is the grocery delivery service. The hotel also provides all the expected amenities for business, recreation and functions.

Tall palm trees line the modern, four floor building occupied by Hampton Inn Corpus Christi, a reliable, mid range hotel at the Navigation Boulevard exit of I-37, 4 miles west of the city center and 5 miles from the international airport. The 80 room/suite hotel offers free hot breakfast, an indoor pool/whirlpool, fitness & business centers and one meeting room accommodating up to 48 guests. Hot breakfast and wi-fi are complimentary. The suites have extra living space, plus a microwave & refrigerator. Rooms face north or south, looking out over a mixed neighborhood that includes restaurants and other hotels.

With over 360 rooms on six floors, the Holiday Inn Express is one of the largest hotels in downtown Corpus Christi, and like several others is located right on the beachfront, along Shoreline Boulevard; between the highway and the ocean. The hotel is close to two sea-side parks; Cole Park to the south and McCaughan Park to the north, and is also within walking distance of Corpus Christi Coliseum and many other sites in the city center. The comprehensive facilities at the hotel include a restaurant, fitness center, indoor pool, gift shop, and 600 feet of Emerald Beach.

Along the western approach to Corpus Christi on I-37, the Holiday Inn Express is a recently built hotel situated half way between the airport and the downtown area, close to a selection of shops, restaurants and other lodging. Access is from exit 3A, Navigation Boulevard. Rooms and public areas have a bright, modern design, complemented by a good range of facilities including free hot breakfast, free internet access, guest laundry, a fitness center, outdoor pool/whirlpool, and the usual facilities for meetings & business.

The Best Western hotel is 4 miles northeast of Corpus Christi Airport, along the western Hwy 358 frontage road, in a mostly residential neighborhood though near several restaurants and shops. The city center is five miles east along I-37. The three story, interior corridor property has an outdoor pool on the sunny south side, and plenty of parking space at the front, while inside are the usual facilities for business and meetings, plus a fitness center. Free hot breakfast is served. Airport transportation is complimentary.

At the center of downtown Corpus Christi's beachfront area, the Best Western Marina Grand Hotel enjoys far reaching views across the Gulf of Mexico from the private balconies of its 173 rooms on 11 floors, though is not directly on the beach, being separated from it by a small area of parkland. The hotel is located at the corner of the southbound section of Shoreline Boulevard and Lawrence Street, which extends 1000 feet across the sea to a small artificial island, known as a T-head. The attractive, light blue building also contains an exercise facility, breakfast bar & guest laundry facility, and has an outdoor pool.

The Fairfield Inn by Marriott (open early 2020) is one of the few hotels to the southwest of Corpus Christi, along Padre Island Drive near the junction with Old Brownsville Road (Hwy 665), close to the edge of the countryside. There are several restaurants within walking distance, and also the local Harley-Davidson dealer. Features include a spacious lobby, a well-equipped fitness center, meeting space and a dining area for the free hot breakfast. The international airport is five miles west.

Comfort Suites Corpus Christi sits at the edge of farmland along Padre Island Drive, 5 miles southwest of the city center, and also close to the international airport (4 miles). The hotel is a handsome 4 story building of 70 well equipped guest rooms - microwave, refrigerator, DVD player - and the expected range of facilities for leisure, business and meetings. Free full breakfast is served each morning, and there are several restaurants within walking distance.

The Quality Inn & Suites hotel on North Beach, Corpus Christi, opens out directly onto the beach, with some rooms having uninterrupted views east over the bay. The USS Lexington Museum on the Bay is a just short walk southwards, and 2 blocks further, beside the Corpus Christi shipping channel, is the Texas State Aquarium. The hotel is close to at least five restaurants, and offers an extra large outdoor pool, a hot tub, children's paddling pool, shuffleboard court, free full breakfast and guest laundry.

Days Inn Corpus Christi is just 600 feet from the long sands of North Beach, separated from the bay only by two small apartment buildings and a vacant lot. US 181 runs past close by to the west but the neighborhood is generally quiet, and lightly developed. USS Lexington, and the nearest restaurants, are 1.5 miles south. Guest rooms are accessed by exterior corridors and some have ocean views; all are on the first or second floor, as is the case for most buildings hereabouts. Amenities are an outdoor pool/hot tub, at the front of the property, plus free continental breakfast and free internet access.

Corpus Christi's Econo Lodge has a fine central location beside the I-37 - Hwy 286 intersection, just 1.5 miles from the nearest beach along Corpus Christi Bay. Room rates are low yet the hotel has all the standard amenities, with 44 clean rooms (containing refrigerator & microwave), an outdoor pool, guest laundry and free continental breakfast. Nearby Leopard Street has a good choice of restaurants and bars.

Super 8 Corpus Christi is a smallish, exterior corridor property a few miles west of downtown, located close to I-37- the fourth building south on Navigation Boulevard (exit 3A), on the east side of the road. The inn offers 49 comfortable rooms, a small business center, an indoor hot tub and an outdoor pool, which has a sheltered position at the rear, away from the main road. Free continental breakfast is served each morning, and for other meals there are several restaurants close by, around the interstate exit.

Rodeway Inn Corpus Christi is situated west of the city center along North Padre Island Drive - facing the frontage road on the west side of the highway, five blocks south of the junction with I-37. This is a commercial neighborhood, with plenty of restaurants, shops and other hotels nearby. The inn charges competitive rates and offers amenities of a refrigerator/microwave in each room, an outdoor pool, and free continental breakfast.
