The Hampton Inn is built in a semi-rural location beside the US 70 - US 287 intersection on the west side of Vernon; probably the best of the small selection of lodging in the city. The hotel features 64 bright, modern rooms with extra-comfortable bedding, free hot breakfast, a fitness center & pool, convenience store, a 42 person meeting room and basic business services. Nearby facilities and attractions include several fast food restaurants, Wilbarger General Hospital and Hillcrest Country Club.

The 60 room Holiday Inn Express is one of the newer hotels in Vernon, TX, located towards the west side of town near the US 70 - US 287 junction. This is a residential area at the edge of the countryside, close to Hillcrest Country Club and a mile from the Pease River, though the hotel is within walking distance of a selection of restaurants, and a Wal-Mart. One of the best aspects of the hotel is the free hot breakfast, served in a pleasant setting off the main lobby. Other facilities include a convenience store, indoor pool, health & fitness center, business center and guest laundry.

Beside the major US 283 - US 70/287 junction on the north side of Vernon, the Super 8 provides basic, affordable lodging with a small number of amenities, principally free continental breakfast, free wi-fi, a refrigerator/microwave in each room, and basic business services. Rooms are divided into two exterior corridor blocks facing the parking lot; there is a gas station to one side and a restaurant just down the street, though a much better selection can be found half a mile south in the city center.
