Reached by a 1.6 mile trail, Taggart Lake in Grand Teton National Park sits directly beneath some of the highest peaks in the Teton Range - summits in view include Teewinot Mountain, Mount Owen, Grand Teton, Middle Teton and South Teton. The east shore of the lake is bordered by thick pine forest, growing on land gradually recovering from a large wildfire in 1985.
