This view is taken about half way between
Heart Lake and
Rustic Geyser, the main feature of
Heart Lake Geyser Basin. The geyser is separated from the trail running along the lakeshore by a patch of marshy ground, kept moist by run-off streams from the various hot springs nearby. Beyond the geyser, the land rises to 10,308 foot
Mount Sheridan, partially obscured on this occasion by low clouds.
