The Holiday Inn Express is the closest hotel in Castro Valley to I-580, located right next to the junction with I-238, and within walking distance of shopping, dining and a movie theater. Although the hotel is surrounded by main roads, the 54 suites are quiet, as well as being spacious and clean, and equipped with microwave & refrigerator. Complimentary items are hot breakfast, parking, internet access, coffee, and evening cookies. Oakland International Airport is 8.5 miles north and the main San Francisco airport is 24 miles west, via the San Mateo Bridge. The property was fully renovated early 2014, after conversion from another brand.

The Best Western hotel in Castro Valley occupies an older, exterior corridor building of two storeys, on the north side of Castro Valley Boulevard half a mile from I-580 exit 37, directly opposite a supermarket and restaurant. The nearest BART station is 1.5 miles west, while Oakland Airport is a quick ten mile drive away. Amenities at the affordable hotel are free continental breakfast and a microwave/refrigerator in all guest rooms.

At the center of Castro Valley, the Comfort Inn is a small, 60 room hotel just east of the I-580/I-238 intersection - along busy Castro Valley Boulevard, close to many shops & restaurants, and opposite the Golden Tee mini golf course. The building has an older design but a fair selection of facilities including an outdoor pool, fitness center, free parking (covered or open) and free hot breakfast. The nearest BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) station is 0.9 miles east.

Econo Lodge Castro Valley provides accommodation towards the cheaper end of the market, in a small (30 room) building with exterior corridors close to I-580, in a mostly residential district though opposite a shopping center with a selection of fast food restaurants. A more tranquil environment can be found on the far side of the freeway at Don Castro Recreation Area, which contains woodland, trails and a lake. The inn offers a decent range of amenities, including complimentary continental breakfast, free wi-fi, a meeting room and an outdoor pool/whirlpool.
