Named after its address, Hotel 850 SVB is a member of Marriott's Design Hotels collection - properties with style and decor inspired by an independent hotelier or designer (Rita Konig in this case), and featuring local influences. The hotel occupies a small but elegant building, partly dating from 1918, along tree-lined San Vicente Blvd, in a mostly residential district of West Hollywood, two blocks from Santa Monica Blvd, and the nearest Metro station. Features include a lounge and a rooftop observation deck, where breakfast is served.

The luxurious, boutique EDITION hotel is situated along Sunset Boulevard 3 miles west of Hollywood, and a similar distance from the center of Beverly Hills. SureStay Hotel Los Angeles charges reasonable rates and offers limited facilities, but has a good location, along Beverly Boulevard within a few miles of Hollywood & Beverly Hills, and right opposite the CBS TV Studios. Also just across the road, Pan Pacific Park features shady footpaths, bbq pits, baseball/basketball courts and a children's playground, while the LA Farmers Market is a short walk south. The well established Saharan Hotel along Sunset Boulevard came under Best Western management in 2018. The property has a traditional, two floor design, centered on an enclosed courtyard garden with outdoor pool; all accommodations are entered by exterior corridors, facing the courtyard. The interior decor is bright and modern, across the public areas and in the guest rooms, which are available with one king bed or two queen beds; there are also several family suites, sleeping up to five. Free full breakfast is provided, and there are many bars & restaurants nearby.

Half way (2.5 miles) between the centers of Hollywood and Beverly Hills, Best Western Sunset Plaza Hotel has a fine location in an upscale neighborhood along Sunset Boulevard, close to plenty of shops and restaurants. The 100 rooms are particularly large & elegant, and contain a microwave, refrigerator, granite work surfaces and other modern amenities. Half look out over the leafy surroundings, the others face inwards over the sizeable outdoor pool and courtyard area, which is adorned with many tropical plants. Good quality free continental breakfast, covered parking, guest laundry, business center and meeting rooms are the other main facilities.

On the famous thoroughfare of Sunset Boulevard, at the foot of the Hollywood Hills, the Ramada Plaza is an affordable, mid range hotel of 175 spacious, refrigerator-equipped rooms, including executive suites and loft suites. This location is 1.5 miles from the center of Beverly Hills, 2 miles from Hollywood, and walking distance from a typical selection of restaurants, bars and small shops. There are two restaurants on-site, and many other amenities including a fitness center, pool, laundry, gift shop, business center and meeting space. Guest rooms are set back a little from the main road, so offer a quiet night's sleep.
