Central Denver Hotels

Probably the most luxurious of the many hotels in downtown Denver, the Ritz-Carlton offers a wide range of amenities complemented by top quality customer service. The hotel occupies the lower 14 floors of a 38 story building along Curtis Street, four blocks from the Colorado Convention Center, and all guest rooms have fine views over the city. Accommodations comprise three types of regular guest rooms, 540 square feet, and five classes of suite, all 1,000 square feet or more. The signature restaurant is ELWAY'S Downtown, an NFL-themed steakhouse; other highlights are full-service spa, a fitness center, two ballrooms and seven meeting rooms.

Centerpiece of the Brown Palace Hotel, a historic central Denver building constructed in 1892, is a beautiful eight story atrium lobby, topped by an elaborate stained glass skylight. Decor and architecture have an Italian theme, and rooms are furnished with a mix of traditional style and modern accessories. Within the hotel are no fewer than six restaurants, a cigar bar, a full spa & salon, a fitness center and 13,000 sq ft of meeting/event space. There are 334 guest rooms available plus a selection of upper floor suites with fantastic views over the city center. The hotel faces Broadway, 2 blocks north of Civic Center Park and 1.7 miles from interstate 25.

Le Méridien Denver is one of the closest hotels to the Colorado Convention Center, just one block east, along California Street, also very close to the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Guests enter through a welcoming lobby lounge and are accommodated in 272 luxurious, European-influenced guest rooms equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows for maximum views over the city. Room service and in-room dining are available 24 hours a day. The hotel has a restaurant (Corinne), a breakfast cafe, and three bars, including 54thirty, the highest open-air rooftop bar in Denver.

Renaissance Denver occupies a historic (open in 1915), marble-clad building in central Denver, formerly used by Colorado National Bank, and which retains many of the original features, including a three story atrium lined by white colonnades and decorated with Native American-themed murals, and the bank vaults, now used as a private dining room and meeting space. The luxury, full service hotel is located right in the middle of downtown Denver's central business district along 17th Street, a few blocks from Colorado Convention Center, Metropolitan State University and Civic Center Park.

Accommodations at the Westin Denver Downtown include traditional guest rooms, in several layouts, plus one bedroom suites. All have wide-ranging views of the city or the mountains, and some, on the top floor, have a private patio. This is a large, full service property of 19 storys and 417 rooms, plus 24 meeting venues (over 30,000 square feet of function space), occupying most of one block between 16th and 17th streets, a ten minute walk from Colorado Convention Center. Food/beverage outlets are the Palm Restaurant, a steakhouse open for breakfast & dinner, the Augusta Restaurant serving breakfast, V's lounge/bar and the Ingredients Coffee Kiosk. Other facilities at the Westin are a 24 hour fitness center and an indoor pool.

The Art Hotel (open October 2020) occupies a modern, angled, glass-fronted building along Broadway at the 12th Avenue intersection towards the south side of downtown Denver, one block from Civic Center Park and the Colorado State Capitol. There are several museums close by, plus numerous restaurants, bars and shops. Public areas are enhanced with paintings, sculpture and other artwork, and all guests rooms are stylishly decorated. Onsite dining is provided by the FIRE restaurant/lounge, accompanied by spectacular views of the Denver skyline. The hotel has a fitness center and eight meeting rooms.

The Magnolia is an upscale, boutique, full service property along 17th Street right in the middle of downtown Denver, a short walk from the Colorado Convention Center and 16th Street Mall; it occupies a historic, 11 floor building dating from 1910 and recently restored to its original appearance. The elegant, subtly decorated accommodations include one bedroom suites and conference suites, all equipped with particularly comfortable bedding. The onsite restaurant, Harry's, provides all-day dining, plus cocktails and fine wines. The hotel has a fitness center and over 10,000 square feet of function space.

The Sheraton is situated towards the south side of downtown Denver, one block from Civic Center Park and two blocks from the Colorado State Capitol. In the other direction, the many shops and restaurants of 16th Street Mall are within easy walking distance, while the light rail (16th St/California station) is also close by. Hotel highlights are a 5,000 square foot, 24 hour fitness center, a rooftop outdoor pool, and the most extensive meeting facilities in the city, with over 133,000 square feet of function space. The hotel has five restaurants, and provides in-room dining for breakfast and dinner.

The Slate Denver occupies the northern half of a venerable, brick-clad building constructed in 1916, for many years site of the Emily Griffith Opportunity School - along Welton Street just north of US 40/287, and right opposite the Colorado Convention Center. The remainder of the property will house retail outlets. The hotel contains 251 guest rooms/suites and six meeting rooms (4,420 square feet of event space); it also has a fitness center and a full service restaurant/bar, Teacher's Lounge, complete with patio space and private dining rooms. Colorado State Capitol is half a mile east.

The Hotel Indigo has a northerly location in downtown Denver along Wewatta Street, two blocks from Union Station and a short distance from the 20th Street exit of Interstate 25, but just a brief stroll from the peaceful surroundings of Confluence Park along the South Platte River. Coors Field is also within easy walking distance. The upscale, 203 room property opened early 2017, part of a major development that includes retail and office space, and it features a bar, restaurant, business & fitness centers and nearly 2,000 sq ft of meeting space. There are plenty of other restaurants in the neighborhood, and a market at the rail station where locally produced food and drinks are sold.

The Denver Hilton is a typically high class, high rise city center hotel, towering 20 floors above the busy downtown area; it occupies most of one block between Stout, 18th & California streets, less than half a mile from Denver Pavilions and the Colorado Convention Center. Rates are also quite high, reflecting the luxurious rooms, good customer service and the wide range of facilities, which include an all-day restaurant, lounge, Starbucks coffee shop, indoor pool, steam room, hot tub, fitness center, and 27,000 sq ft of meeting/event space. All of the 615 rooms & suites have appealing views of the city skyline and the Front Range. The hotel opened late 2017, after full renovation of an existing property.

Right in the middle of downtown Denver, the 16 story, 336 room Curtis DoubleTree is an colorful, modern, boutique hotel offering pop and movie-themed decor together with full service amenities, excellent customer service and a fine location in the art district, within a short walk of such places as Colorado Convention Center, University of Colorado, Center for the Performing Arts and 16th Street Mall. Besides the numerous restaurants & bars nearby, the hotel has its own elegant establishment, The Corner Office, open for breakfast, lunch, dinner & room service. Other attractions include a beautifully-designed fitness center, a convenience store, a Starbucks outlet and 20,000 sq ft of meeting/event space.

On the corner of 15th Street and California Street in downtown Denver, the 223 room AC Hotel by Marriott occupies half of an 19 story building (shared with a Le Meridien hotel), scheduled to open late summer 2017. This location is just one block from the Colorado Convention Center and the 16th Street entertainment district, and within half a mile of dozens of restaurants, bars & shops. Features at the luxurious, full service property include two on-site dining outlets, the highest rooftop bar in the city and over 13,000 square feet of function space.

The Courtyard is one of the closest hotels to Denver Stadium - on the west side, along Federal Boulevard, three blocks north of US 40, in a commercial/business neighborhood. The hotel opens winter 2024/5. Onsite dining is provided by the Bistro restaurant, open for breakfast, dinner & evening drinks. Select guest rooms are equipped with a kitchenette. The hotel has a fitness center and an outdoor terrace, though no pool.

Courtyard Denver Downtown has an enviable central location between Champa and Curtis streets, right next to the 16th St pedestrian mall and so within a short walk of many restaurants, shops, bars and corporate headquarters. The hotel occupies a historic 6 floor building, and its 177 elegantly furnished rooms & suites have views either of the bustling city center or the interior floor to ceiling atrium lobby. The on site restaurant is Rialto Cafe, serving classic American cuisine and open all day for breakfast, lunch, dinner & evening room service; there is also a Starbuck's coffee house on the premises. For meetings/events the Courtyard has 5 rooms (3,200 sq ft of space), while for leisure guests have use of a 24 hour fitness center (no pool or hot tub).

One block from the Courtyard stands another Marriott property, the 14 story Residence Inn along Champa Street. The hotel provides high quality extended stay or all suite accommodation to city center visitors. The 229 suites are available in studio, one bed or two bed layouts - at least twice the size of the average hotel room - and all are very clean, brightly decorated and include a full kitchen. Hot buffet breakfast and weekday evening reception are both provided free of charge; for other dining and entertainment there are many restaurants & bars nearby. The hotel also has a fireplace lobby, rooftop hot tub, 4 meeting rooms, 24 hour business center, 24 hour fitness center and a coffee house open for lunch and breakfast.

One mile northwest of downtown Denver, the Residence Inn by Marriott is a well managed, reasonably-priced, residential-style hotel with a good reputation for quality, service and facilities; these include a free 5 mile local area shuttle, free hot breakfast, free evening social hour (Mon-Thu), two meeting rooms, and a pool/hot tub/fitness center. The 159 suites are divided into 20 separate blocks, and are available in several configurations; largest is the 850 sq ft two bed/two floor penthouse. All come with a full kitchen & extra sofa bed, and have views either of the tree-lined grounds or the mostly residential neighborhood, despite being just 0.3 miles from I-25 (exit 212; Speer Boulevard), and one mile from two of Denver's most popular sites: the Broncos Stadium and Elitch Gardens.

Staybridge Suites Denver Downtown is a 2017 addition to the all-suite hotel choices in central Denver, opening after conversion and extension of a former office building (Tremont Center), located along Colfax Avenue at the junction with Tremont Place. Civic Center Park is two blocks east, while the Convention Center is two blocks west, and there are numerous other attractions a short walk away. The 111 room, eight story hotel features a 24 hour fitness center, an indoor pool & whirlpool, free hot breakfast each morning and free dinner buffets (Tue to Thu). All accommodations contain a full kitchen and plenty of living space.

The Embassy Suites hotel in downtown Denver is situated at the corner of Stout Street and 14th Street, directly opposite Colorado Convention Center and within walking distance of many other central Denver attractions including Aurania Campus, Denver Center for the Performing Arts and Colorado State Capitol, plus numerous businesses, restaurants & bars. The modern, glass-fronted building contains 390 suites, all with separate sleeping/living rooms, a sofa bed, wet bar (microwave, refrigerator, sink) and a well-lit work desk. Both hot breakfast and evening receptions are complimentary, 7 days a week, while other meals are available from the on-site restaurant/bar (the American-style 'Elements'). For meetings, the hotel has 14 rooms totaling 6,510 sq ft of space.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Denver Downtown features spacious one-bedroom studio suites, all equipped with a full kitchen & work desk, and enjoying spectacular views of the city or the mountains through the oversized windows. Food for cooking can be purchased from a 24 hour convenience store or via the free grocery shopping service. Daily hot breakfast and evening dinner & drinks (Mon-Thu) are complimentary. Other facilities are an indoor pool, whirlpool, business center and meeting space for up to 140 people. The hotel occupies the upper section of a 12 floor building along 15th Street, half a block from Colorado Convention Center right in the heart of the city.

The Hilton Garden Inn has a prime location on the north side of downtown Denver, in the LoDo district, within easy walking distance of Coors Field, Union Station and Common Park along the South Platte River, plus numerous shops and restaurants. The main structure is an imposing, 12 storey tower, partly glass-fronted, while the site also includes a historic brick building from 1883, originally for the Denver Hose Company, now housing the onsite restaurant and bar. Other amenities are a fitness center, a business center, an indoor pool and over 9,000 square feet of function space. The hotel is easily accessed from Interstate 25 via the 20th Street exit.

Right across the street from Denver Convention Center, the Hilton Garden Inn is a large, modern, full service hotel occupying as 12 story buildig on the corner of 14th and Welton streets, also within a few blocks of such locations as Civic Center Park, Metropolitan State University and 16th Street Pedestrian Mall, plus dozens of restaurants, bars and entertainment centers. All guest rooms contain a refrigerator and microwave; snacks for cooking can be purchased from the 24 hour convenience store. Pi Kitchen restaurant/bar provides breakfast (free with some room deals), lunch, dinner, evening drinks & room service. All the usual facilities for leisure, business and meetings are available.

The relatively small (62 room), Hampton Inn Denver is part of a group of hotels at the Speer Boulevard exit of I-25, convenient both for interstate travelers and people wanting to be close to downtown, the edge of which is less than one mile east, beyond the interstate, the South Platte River and a riverside park. Also within walking distance is Elitch Gardens, a 70 acre water & amusement park. The hotel provides free hot breakfast and is close to a small selection of restaurants; its other main amenities are an indoor pool, a 24 hour snack shop, a business center and one meeting room.

The boutique-style Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown is the larger of two properties of this brand in central Denver, situated on the east side of the city center along Sherman Street, close to various businesses and shops. The convention center is half a mile west, while the 16th Street Mall is just 2 blocks away, containing dozens of shops & restaurants. The hotel provides free hot breakfast each morning, available in a take out version for guests in a hurry (Mon-Fri). Besides the standard accommodations - all equipped with a microwave, refrigerator & coffee maker, a selection of suites are available, in studio, one bedroom, or two-floor layouts. 4,600 sq ft of meeting space is sufficient for events of up to 80 guests.

Just down the road from Colorado Convention Center, the Hampton Inn is a popular, welcoming hotel of 120 good-sized rooms, in a 12 story building (shared with the Homewood Suites) at the corner of 15th and Welton streets, also convenient for such locations as the Pepsi Center, Paramount Theatre, Community College of Denver and Civic Center Park. The on-site meeting facilities are good, with 8 rooms accommodating up to 135 people. Leisure amenities are the usual trio of an indoor pool, whirlpool and fitness center. Free hot breakfast is served each morning, while tea & coffee are available all day in the lobby.

The hotel may be new and modern, but TownePlace Suites Denver Downtown occupies a historic art deco building, formerly a print works, located one mile from downtown Denver along Speer Boulevard, next to Cherry Creek. Contained within are 123 studio, one bedroom and two bedroom suites, all featuring a full kitchen, large work desk and complimentary internet access. Free basic breakfast is served, while for other meals there are quite a few restaurants several blocks away on Broadway or Lincoln St; staff can advise as to the best choices. Also nearby - just across the street - is the Denver Health Medical Center. Free parking, a fitness center and guest laundry are the other main amenities.

Open summer 2019, the Element by Westin has a south-central location in downtown Denver, south of Colfax Avenue, close to the Cherry Creek Trail, a popular hike/cycle path. Colorado Convention Center is less than one mile north. This is a long stay, pet friendly property of 118 suites (studio or one bedroom), all equipped with sofa bed and kitchen. General facilities are a fitness center, convenience store, meeting space and a lounge/bar. Hot breakfast is complimentary.

SpringHill Suites Denver Downtown is a modern addition to the choice of extended stay/all-suite accommodations in the city center, offering stylish, spacious studio suites equipped with refrigerator, microwave, work desk, sofa bed and luxurious, high quality bedding. The hotel adjoins the Auraria Campus (north edge), near the athletic fields, and is also within walking distances of the Pepsi Center, Elitch Gardens Theme Park, Colorado Convention Center, Museum of Contemporary Art, and many shops & restaurants. Free hot breakfast is served each morning; also available are a pool, fitness center, meeting space and free wi-fi.

The Aloft offers contemporary, boldly-decorated guest rooms in a centrally-located building along 15th Street, one block from Colorado Convention Center and Denver Center for the Performing Arts. The hotel has a bar, serving drinks & light meals, and a 24 hour cafe; there are many other restaurants close by. Live music is staged most Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The fitness center is also open 24 hours. Other facilities are two meeting rooms (accommodating events of up to 90 guests), and free wi-fi.

Cambria Hotel Denver was built in 2024, a little way north of downtown, north of the railway lines, in the River North Art District (RiNo), close to many restaurants, bars and arts venues. Also within walking distance is parkland alongside the South Platte River. An onsite convenience store sells drinks & snacks, while meals and drinks are available from the restaurant/bar, on the premises. Two meeting rooms cater for functions and events.

One of the tallest Holiday Inn Express properties in the US, this Denver Downtown hotel has 22 floors and 231 rooms, and is surrounded by other high buildings at the center of the city - the inn is situated on the corner of 17th Street and Tremont Place, one block from Denver Pavilions and the 16th Street Mall. Besides the great location, hotel highlights are free full breakfast, free internet access, a fitness center, business center, gift shop, and several meeting rooms that have wide ranging views across the city towards the Rocky Mountains. There are many restaurants close by, and the staff can recommend the best ones to try.

Vib Best Western Denver is a newly constructed property, open summer 2022, in the RiNo (River North) Art District, known for its art galleries, live music venues, bars and restaurants. The Zeppelin Station on the A line is one block south, while I-70 access is via 38th Street (exit 275A), half a mile north. The hotel has 140 guest rooms, a rooftop restaurant/bar with 360 degree views, a fitness center, a lobby level cafe/bar, and 2,000 square feet of event space. Local artwork features prominently in the rooms, the interior spaces, and on the exterior walls.

The Fairfield Inn by Marriott is a 2016 addition to the group of hotels at the Speer Boulevard exit of Interstate 25, located in a mixed business/residential neighborhood just west of the city center, and connected by trail to various parks along the South Platte River. Elitch Gardens amusement park, the Pepsi Center and the University of Denver are all about one mile away. The four floor, 87 room/suite hotel provides free hot breakfast and is within walking distance of a reasonable selection of restaurants. Other standard facilities of this brand include meeting space, an indoor pool, fitness & business centers and a convenience store.

Although quite an old, mid rise hotel in an industrial neighborhood, Comfort Inn Denver Central has a good reputation, for its well maintained rooms, helpful staff and above average free continental breakfast. There is a restaurant/lounge on the premises (open for breakfast & dinner), an outdoor pool, gift shop, beauty salon and even a post office. Some rooms are available with added amenities like a microwave, refrigerator and massage shower. The hotel is right next to I-25 exit 215, 4 miles north of downtown Denver.

The pet friendly Comfort Suites Denver occupies half of a newly constructed building (shared with the MainStay Suites) along Federal Boulevard at the 6th Avenue intersection, adjoining a business district to the east and a residential neighborhood to the west. The hotel is just a short walk from Barnum Recreation Center, which includes a water park, lake and trails. Complimentary amenities are wi-fi, daily newspaper, hot breakfast and manager's reception on weekday evenings. A games room, indoor pool and fitness center are available for relaxation. The hotel also has a convenience store and a gift shop.

The MainStay Suites is part of a 2017 Choice Hotels development that also includes the Comfort Suites, at the intersection of US 6 and Federal Boulevard, 2 miles west of downtown Denver. There are several city parks within a few miles, though most of the surroundings are a mix of residential and commercial districts. All accommodations are studio suites, featuring a sofa bed, full kitchen and separate living area. Amenities shared with the Comfort Suites include an indoor pool, convenience store, a fitness center and a business center.

Denver's Days Inn hotel has basic facilities but charges low rates, and is close to, though not quite in, the downtown area. There are 57 rooms, in a 4 story, exterior corridor building along Colfax Avenue, half a mile from the start of the main central area of Denver on the far side of Broadway. A fitness center, free continental breakfast and free internet access are the three chief amenities.

The Super 8 is part of an industrial area on the west side of I-25 at the 58th Avenue exit, on the opposite side to Denver Mart and several restaurants. The city center is 4 miles south. There are three accommodation blocks at the Travelodge, all exterior corridor, surrounded by a good-sized parking lot. Some rooms overlook the outdoor pool, which is out-of-sight of the road. The usual two complimentary amenities of wi-fi and breakfast (continental) are provided. Pets are welcome.
