Cesar E Chavez National Monument was established as recently as 2012, and its facilities are still being developed, so visitation will likely increase. The centerpiece is a memorial garden where labor leader and activist César Estrada Chávez is buried; other exhibits commemorate various aspects of his life and achievements. The monument is located along Hwy 58 in southern California, next to the small town of Keene, about half way between Bakersfield and Mojave.
