Missoula Hotels

New for spring 2021, the upscale AC Hotel adjoins another Marriott property (Residence Inn), at the intersection of Main Street and Pattee Street, in the middle of downtown Missoula, three blocks from the Clark Fork River. The building has six storeys and 105 guest rooms, with design and decor referencing the local history and geology, together with European influences. Dining outlets are a street-level speakeasy restaurant and a rooftop bar; there are many other places within walking distance. The hotel also offers a fitness center, business center and one meeting room.

Although located in the middle of downtown Missoula along US 12 (Madison Street), Hilton's DoubleTree Hotel has a peaceful setting right on the banks of the Clark Fork River, looking south towards a city park on the far side. Interstate 90 is just three blocks away and there are many shops, restaurants, and other attractions within walking distance. The hotel occupies a low rise building of 171 rooms, featuring an executive desk, luxury bedding, patio or balcony and free wi-fi; several suites are available with kitchenette facilities. The on-site restaurant is Finn and Porter, open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus room service. DoubleTree Hotel Missoula also offers an outdoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, complimentary airport shuttle and 9,000 sq ft of meeting space.

Holiday Inn at the Park is the most central full service hotel in Missoula, situated close to the Clark Fork River at the end of a quiet side road, three blocks from Broadway Street. Many of the 200 nicely appointed rooms (on 4 stories) enjoy mountain or river views, and all are equipped with a refrigerator, coffee maker, DVD player and free wi-fi. Some look inwards over the hotel's central atrium. Meals are available from the all-day RiverBend Restaurant, or from many other dining outlets within a few minute's walk. Leisure amenities are the usual pool (indoor), hot tub and fitness center, while meeting facilities include 10 rooms catering for events of up to 1,000 people.

The Courtyard by Marriott is one of many hotels along Reserve Street (US 93) on the north side of Missoula, 0.4 miles from interstate 90 and within walking distance of a fair selection of restaurants. The hotel is set back a little way from the main road and so provides a quiet night's sleep in all its 92 large, modern rooms, which are equipped with an executive desk, luxurious bedding, free wi-fi, a refrigerator and a microwave. Amenities include an indoor pool & spa, a fitness center, a full service business center, meeting/event space and the Bistro, open for breakfast (not complimentary) and dinner. A free shuttle is operated to the international airport, 2.5 miles west.

Residence Inn Missoula has a city center location along Pattee Street; constructed 2018-2019, on the site of the old Mercantile building, from which some material was reused during construction. The hotel is an all-suite property, offering accommodations in two bedroom, one bedroom and studio layouts; all have a full kitchen, and separate living area. Guests are two blocks from the Clark Fork River, and also within walking distance of many restaurants. Other features include a rooftop courtyard, fitness center and meeting space. Hot breakfast is complimentary.

Staybridge Suites Missoula is considered by some to be the best hotel in town, because of its affordable rates, the quiet surroundings, the friendly staff, the range of choices for the free hot breakfast buffet and the modern, well equipped accommodations - all rooms have a full kitchen, plus separate areas for living, working & sleeping. Other complimentary amenities are guest laundry, internet access, evening snacks (on selected days) and an airport shuttle. The all suite/extended stay hotel is locatede just of Reserve Street (US 93) near the northwest edge of Missoula, a short drive from I-90 exit 101.

The Homewood Suites (open winter 2023-4) is part of the northern group of Missoula hotels, around the intersection of I-90 with Bus 90; a busy neighborhood of shops, restaurant and other businesses, though the hotel backs onto a wooded corridor of Grant Creek, with undeveloped land on the far side. Highlights are free hot breakfast, fitness & business centers, an indoor pool, and a meeting rooms, one with natural lighting. The hotel is built on the site of the old Ruby's Inn and Convention Center, which welcomed guests here for over four decades.

There are several new, well equipped hotels along Reserve Street (US 93) in north Missoula; the Hilton Garden Inn is one of the bigger properties, offering 146 spacious rooms (all containing a refrigerator & microwave), a cafe (open for breakfast), a 24 hour convenience store and 22,000 sq ft of meeting/event space - the largest such facility in west Montana. For lunch & dinner there is one restaurant adjacent and plenty more within walking distance along the main road. Leisure amenities are the usual fitness room, hot tub and indoor pool.

TownePlace Suites by Marriott (the first property of this brand in Montana) joins a large group of hotels a few miles north of downtown Missoula along US 93 near the I-90 intersection, part a commercial district with many shops, restaurants and other businesses, though within sight of mountainous terrain in all directions. The four floor building contains 90 suites (studio, one bedroom and two bedroom), all of which contain a full kitchen and large work desk. Meals can also be prepared using the outdoor barbeque facilities, near the swimming pool, which extends inside the property. Complimentary continental breakfast is provided.

A new Holiday Inn Express hotel in Missoula opened late spring 2011, built next to an IHG sister property (the Staybridge Suites) on the north side of town along US 93, a busy street of restaurants, shops and other businesses. This location is 2.5 miles from the international airport (served by complimentary shuttle service) and 4 miles from downtown Missoula. The 82 room property includes a pool, whirlpool, fitness center, meeting space and a dining area for the free hot breakfast.

Missoula's Best Western hotel has a good reputation for the comfortable rooms, the helpful staff and the quiet, easy-to-reach location - the inn sits on the north side of I-90 exit 101, right next to the steep slopes of Sheep Mountain and along a country road that leads towards the Rattlesnake Wilderness in the nearby Lolo National Forest. The 126 well appointed rooms at the Best Western Plus Grant Creek Inn all contain a refrigerator & microwave; also available are a number of two-room suites with extra amenities including a balcony, fireplace and sofabed. Free full breakfast is prepared each morning, and other services are a hot tub, steam room, fitness center, business center, meeting space and a free shuttle to Missoula International Airport.

The Fairfield Inn hotel sits by the edge of the countryside 5 miles north of downtown Missoula, adjacent to I-90 exit 99; close to Missoula International Airport, one mile south. Rooms at the modern, well managed hotel are large, comfortable, nicely decorated and equipped with microwave/refrigerator, and all necessary facilities are provided, principally free breakfast, a fitness center, business center and meeting space. One extra feature is the indoor pool, complete with water park including two water slides.

The 61 room Comfort Inn Missoula has a pleasant location backing on to a creek and a patch of woodland, with views of distant mountains in most directions, yet is also close to shopping and dining - along Reserve Street (US 93), near the north edge of town. Free breakfast is served; other amenities include an indoor pool, whirlpool, fitness center, free airport shuttle, and a refrigerator/microwave/coffee maker in each room

On the east side of Missoula, the Comfort Inn occupies an older but well maintained five floor building on the north bank of the Clark Fork River, one block from a supermarket (Albertson's) and several restaurants, and a short distance from the grassy hills of the Lolo National Forest. I-90 runs past just to the north, reaching the international airport after 6 miles (free shuttle available). The main amenities are free breakfast buffet (with hot items), a fitness center, business center, a 1,000 sq ft meeting room and a microwave/refrigerator in each of the 95 rooms.

Quality Inn Missoula is a mid range, medium sized (52 room) hotel that charges reasonable rates and has all the expected amenities: free hot breakfast, free wi-fi, an indoor pool, hot tub, basic business services and a meeting room. Pets are welcome. All rooms contain a refrigerator and microwave, while several suites have a sofa bed and whirlpool bath. There are several restaurants nearby - the hotel is part of a businesses/commercial district along Reserve Street, 0.7 miles south of interstate 90 exit 101, on the north edge of Missoula.

Clean rooms, a quiet location and good free continental breakfast are the main attributes of Sleep Inn Missoula, a small, interior corridor hotel near the Brooks Street - Reserve Street junction on the southwest side of the city, 3.5 miles from downtown and 0.8 miles from the main shopping center in the area (Southgate Mall). Other facilities are limited to a small indoor pool & hot tub, a business center and free wi-fi.

The Days Inn of downtown Missoula provides complimentary light breakfast, while lunch & dinner may be purchased from the onsite restaurant (Hoagieville), or from many other dining outlets in the vicinity. The hotel is situated along Broadway Street, one block from the Clark Fork River, right beside the I-90 intersection, and with good views of the hills to the north. Other amenities are a business center, coin-operated laundry and free wi-fi.

The Days Inn is the most northwesterly hotel in the Missoula area, and it has a rather isolated location next to a travel center at the Broadway Street exit of I-90, nine miles from the city center. There are six restaurants nearby (one adjacent) but no other facilities in the vicinity; Missoula International Airport is 4 miles away, linked by complimentary shuttle. The interior corridor motel backs on to an extra large parking lot, with space for dozens of trucks, and it offers amenities of a fitness center, free wi-fi, free continental breakfast and basic business services.

The 41 guest rooms at the budget-priced Travelodge Missoula are housed in two blocks (one exterior corridor, one interior), either side of the central parking lot. There are no amenities apart from wi-fi, free coffee and coin-operated laundry, but the location is good, near I-90 at the US 12 exit, though far enough from the freeway to escape the traffic noise. One block south, a hike/bike path crosses the Clark Fork River and an adjacent city park than enters the University of Montana campus; also close by are several restaurants and Albertson's supermarket.

Although near a gravel pit and interstate 90 (exit 101), Econo Lodge Missoula has quite a scenic setting, partly surrounded by pine trees and set back a little from the nearby main road (Reserve Street), behind a gas station and restaurant. The three floor motel contains 67 spacious guest rooms, some equipped with a sofa bed, microwave and refrigerator. Pet friendly rooms are available. Internet access, coffee and continental breakfast are complimentary; other facilities are a hot tub and coin-operated laundry.

The 104 guest rooms at Super 8 Missoula are divided between two blocks, each of two floors and interior corridors, located along the southwestern approach to the city, US 93 from Idaho. Rooms at the north side look out across the greenery of Larchmont Golf Course, and guests are just a short walk from the Bitterroot River, which marks the edge of the developed area. Amenities are limited to free continental breakfast, free coffee all day, free wi-fi and coin-operated laundry.

The Super 8 is a north Missoula motel, part of a group of lodging near I-90 exit 101 (US 93/Reserve Street). The three story building backs on to a wooded creek, and most rooms have views of the nearby mountains. Various restaurants and gas stations are within walking distance. The motel has a fitness center though no pool, plus a guest laundry facility and a dining room where the free continental breakfast is served each morning. Select accommodations contain a hot tub bath.
