Holiday Inn Express Truth Or Consequences opened spring 2012 on the north side of town beside I-25 exit 79, a short walk from several restaurants and a Wal-Mart store; the downtown area is two miles south. The surroundings are mostly undeveloped, and the many recreation opportunities of Elephant Butte Lake State Park are just 4 miles away. Highlight of the hotel is the varied free breakfast, which includes a selection of hot items; other facilities are the usual indoor pool/hot tub, fitness center, business center and a small meeting room.

The Comfort Inn & Suites of Truth or Consequences is situated right next to exit 79 (N Date St, US 85) of I-25, 2 miles north of the town center, in an empty region - the views in most directions are of barren desert hills, though Elephant Butte Lake (a state park) is just over the horizon to the east. Free continental breakfast is available; for other meals the inn is adjacent to one restaurant, the Santa Fe Diner, and close to several more. Leisure options are an indoor heated pool, hot tub and exercise room. The place is fairly new, with 2 floors and 50 clean rooms, all containing a refrigerator, ironing facilities and a coffee maker.

The pet friendly Travelodge motel offers 41 rooms all on the ground floor, in two blocks surrounded by plenty of parking, and with an outdoor pool close by. Downtown Truth or Consequences is 2 miles south along Date Street, and there are at least seven restaurants within half a mile; one is adjacent. Walmart is half a block south. All accommodations are equipped with a microwave, refrigerator and coffee/tea maker. Complimentary continental breakfast is served each morning.
