View on a cloudy day from the top of the smooth sandstone mounds around Dance Hall Rock, at mile 36.5 of the Hole-in-the-Rock road. The formation is a short distance east of the road, which at this point is less than 2 miles from the distinctive cliffs of Fiftmile Bench. The northern third of the horizon is formed by Fortymile Ridge, a flat scrub-covered plain that extends towards Coyote Gulch and the Escalante River.
