Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort has a spectacular backcountry setting in the forested high country just east of Zion National Park, accessed by a paved side road off Hwy 9. Trails lead west to such locations as Cable Mountain, Deertrap Mountain and Echo Canyon, while beyond the resort, the road (now unpaved) continues to the trailheads for Orderville Canyon and the Zion Narrows. The resort offers a variety of ranch-style accommodations including multi-bedroom lodges, log cabins, Conestoga wagons and glamping tents, together with general amenities of a gift shop, restaurant/bar, conference center, recreation barn, outdoor pool and guest laundry facility. Jeep tours, canyoneering trips, horse rides and guided hikes are also available. The nearest towns (Orderville and Mt Carmel Junction) are a half hour drive away.
