Grotto Fountain Geyser
Previous PhotoSmall stream flowing from Grotto Fountain GeyserNext Photo

Grotto Fountain Geyser is relatively far from the path so not viewable close up; it has an irregular, sinter-ringed vent that erupts for around 15 minutes, to heights of up to 80 feet, separated by dormant periods of six hours to over a day. Eruptions precede activity from the larger Grotto Geyser just to the north.

Beyond this geyser, the east section of the Upper Geyser Basin Loop joins the west section, and the path continues north another mile to the highway near Biscuit Basin. Most people just walk another 0.2 miles, however, to Morning Glory Pool.
