The vent of
Oval Spring has an uneven, elongated shape but the surrounding sinter ring is circular, 25 feet across; whitish near the center and darker towards the edge. The spring lies near the four-way trail intersection in the Sawmill Group, right beside the eastern loop path. The spring has erupted at least once last century, but for decades since has been a calm, gently simmering pool of pale blue water.
