Although aimed mostly at business travelers to the surrounding Kearny Mesa industrial park - nearby company offices include Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Jack in the Box - the full service Courtyard San Diego Central is well connected to all other area attractions via the adjacent 163 Freeway (accessed from the Clairemont Mesa Boulevard exit) that links with I-15 and I-805. The well-regarded hotel has 245 rooms, an all-day restaurant, coffee shop, lounge bar, 24 hour convenience store, hot tub, fitness center, and quite a large outdoor pool, in the middle of the courtyard garden. For meetings/events there are 5 rooms, totaling 4,000 sq ft of space.

The Four Points by Sheraton is positioned at the west edge of Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport, on the south side of Kearny Mesa, close to the busy intersection of I-805 and Hwy 163. Also in the vicinity are Rady Children's Hospital, Cabrillo Heights Park, and various business premises, plus a good selection of restaurants. Onsite dining is provided by a breakfast cafe, a coffee shop also serving breakfast, and lunch, and the Montfield Lounge/Bar, open for dinner and evening drinks. The hotel has an outdoor pool, a 24 hour fitness center, and comprehensive meeting/event facilities.

Half the spacious, nicely decorated, refrigerator-equipped rooms at Hampton Inn San Diego-Kearny Mesa have views of the outdoor pool & gardens at the front of the property; the others overlook the spacious parking lot to the rear. The well reviewed hotel sits just off Hwy 163 at the Clairemont Mesa Boulevard exit, at the edge of a business park, but also within walking distance of shopping & dining. Amenities include free hot breakfast (carry out version available), free wi-fi, a fitness center, a business center and meeting space.

The TownePlace Suites by Marriott is an early 2019 addition to the all-suite/extended stay hotels in the San Diego area, part of the extensive business district between I-15 and Hwy 163, within walking distance of over a dozen restaurants, mostly along Clairemont Mesa Boulevard to the north. The city center is 8 miles south, all along the freeway. All 107 suites contain a full kitchen, and are available in one bedroom and studio configurations. Free hot buffet breakfast is provided each morning. Bbq grills, business & fitness centers, an outdoor pool and meeting space are some of the other amenities.
