The small town of Fraser near the east edge of the Rocky Mountains has one chain hotel: the 77 room Holiday Inn Express, which opened late 2014 after renovation of an existing property. The three floor building has a pleasant location in a lightly developed neighborhood at the south edge of town, within sight of high mountains to the west and lower, wooded hills in all other directions. Nearby supermarkets include Alco and Safeway, and there are plenty of restaurants a short walk away. The local Amtrak station is 0.3 miles west. A free shuttle to the Winter Park ski center operates between November and April. The standard Holiday Inn Express amenities include free hot breakfast buffet, pool (indoor), free wi-fi and a business center. Some guest accommodations have one or more of a sofa bed, balcony and separate bedroom.
