The small town of Fruita provides generally quieter, more relaxing accommodation than Grand Junction, ten miles east, and the best of the limited selection of hotels is the Comfort Inn, a handsome, adobe style building on the west side of town near to exit 19 of I-70. The inn provides just about the closest accommodation to Colorado National Monument, entrance to which is 2 miles south on Hwy 340.
