Potts Hot Spring Basin is an active geothermal area one mile north of the more well known West Thumb Geyser Basin, containing many hot pools and mudpots, though no geysers. This view is of a pool and a large area of unstable land beside Yellowstone Lake, bordered to the west by thick pine forests.
