Near the north edge of Shoshone Geyser Basin in southwest Yellowstone National Park, the Shoshone Lake Trail runs between a wooded hill and Shoshone Creek, passing several of the largest thermal features in the area. This panorama, from half way between the path and the creek, shows the cones of Minute Man Geyser, Gourd Spring and Shield Geyser, and their colorful run-off channels. To the south, many more steam plumes indicate the location of other springs and pools.
