Transept Trail
PreviousBushy limestone slopes below the Transept TrailNext

The 1.5 mile Transept Trail is a fairly level route in the busiest area of the North Rim, linking Bright Angel Lodge with the campground, following close to the rim of a deep, red-walled side canyon (The Transept). Some of the wider gorge can be seen in the distance, but the closer views of the adjacent ravine are still quite impressive. Although parts of the route run through quite dense pine, oak and aspen woodland, most is over open, bushy slopes.

Length 1.5 miles (2.4 km), elevation change 150 feet (46 meters)
