All of the park is in the Mojave Desert, so habitats are rather limited; most of the terrain is sand dunes, rocky or gravelly flats, sandstone cliffs and mounds. Less common habitats include gypsum hills, streams and seeps. Elevations range from 1,300 feet to 2,900 feet.
