West Salt Lake City Hotels (Airport)

DoubleTree by Hilton Salt Lake City Airport has a pleasant setting overlooking an eight acre artificial lake, which forms a buffer between the hotel and I-80 just south. Most of the rooms have views either of the water, or of the central garden, which is filled with mature trees, and contains some of the sports facilities (tennis court and putting green). The outdoor pool is also situated close to the lakeshore. The on-site restaurant is Grill 114, open for breakfast, lunch, dinner & room service; this too has relaxing views of the lake and the mountains to the east. Club 114 lounge/bar serves drinks & snacks until midnight. Other features include an atrium lobby, 13,000 sq ft of meeting space, and an indoor pool.

The Radisson hotel is conveniently located beside the major I-80/I-215 intersection along North Temple, exactly half way (3 miles) between the international airport and Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City. These and other locations are served by the green line (service 704) of the Trax light rail, the nearest station being a short distance east. The three-floor, 124 room hotel has an attractive, mountain lodge-style frontage, surrounded by landscaped gardens, and it provides above average facilities including an onsite restaurant (the Club Room), serving breakfast, lunch & dinner, plus room service and complimentary evening receptions on Tue, Wed and Thu.

The Holiday Inn Salt Lake City Airport hotel is a beautiful, new, four floor building with modern, contemporary decor, containing 87 rooms, 24 suites, a bar/lounge, restaurant (Wingtips Bistro) open for breakfast, lunch & dinner (room service available), heated indoor pool, fitness center, hot tub, convenience store and 2,300 sq ft of meeting space, big enough for events of up to 250 people. A free shuttle is available from the airport (3 miles east via I-80), taking guests right to the welcoming lobby, which features a fireplace, easy chairs and large screen TV. All guest accommodations contain a microwave and coffee maker. Downtown Salt Lake City is 7 miles away.

The Courtyard Salt Lake City Airport hotel is part of a group of office buildings, other hotels and a few restaurants just southwest of the terminal buildings, next to exit 114 of interstate 80, and 6 miles from downtown Salt Lake. The on-site Bistro restaurant/lounge serves breakfast (not complimentary), dinner and evening cocktails; the other main facilities are a fitness room, indoor pool, hot tub, guest laundry, business center, and two meeting rooms. The hotel has 154 comfortable, oversized rooms & suites, on three floors.

Considered one of the top hotels in all of Salt Lake City, the Residence Inn by Marriott at the international airport is an all suite property offering enhanced amenities for extended stays - including free hot breakfast, free evening light dinner with beer/wine (Mon-Thu), a grocery shopping service and guest laundry, plus the usual leisure facilities of indoor pool, hot tub and fitness center. The 104 suites have a full kitchen, extra sofa bed, two TVs, and separate areas for working, relaxing & sleeping. The Residence Inn is located next to exit 112 of I-80, a 3 mile drive from the airport terminal (served by complimentary shuttle).

The Homewood Suites is a summer 2019 addition to the large number of hotels on the southwest side of Salt Lake City Airport; part of a business park adjoining I-80 to the north, also close to a good selection of restaurants. The terminal building is just over 3 miles away, by road, while Temple Square is 8 miles. All accommodations are suites, with separate living area (including sofa bed) and a full kitchen; food for cooking is available from the 24 hour convenience store. Wi-fi, 24 hour airport transportation, daily hot breakfast and weekday evening receptions are complimentary. Recreation facilities are an indoor saline pool, a hot tub, a fitness center and a sports court.

The Hilton Garden Inn occupies a modern, imposing, six floor building one mile west of Salt Lake City Airport (3 miles by road), close to I-80 but far enough removed to escape the noise of traffic. Complimentary shuttle to the airport is available 24 hours a day. The inn offers 122 comfortable, nicely decorated rooms & suites, all containing a microwave and refrigerator, while leisure amenities are the usual pool (indoor), whirlpool and fitness center. Guests may also walk the shoreline trail around a scenic lake on the far side of the street, which adjoins another Hilton hotel. The Hilton Garden Inn has a restaurant (Great American Grill), open all day, a 24 hour convenience store, and meetings facilities catering for up to 300 people.

Three miles west of Salt Lake City International Airport at exit 113 of Interstate 80, the Four Points by Sheraton is a relatively large, pet friendly hotel of 153 rooms, in two blocks overlooking a tree-lined garden containing an outdoor pool, hot tub and patio. Select accommodations have a private balcony. A free, 24 hour shuttle is operated to the airport. The onsite restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner, and there are several other dining outlets within two blocks. The hotel has two event rooms, largest capacity 46 people.

The Hampton Inn is one of the westernmost hotels in Salt Lake City, within sight of the empty plains that extend towards the Great Salt Lake. The 100 room property is part of a large group of business premises and other hotels between I-80 exits 113 and 114, 4.5 miles by road from the international airport (free 24 hour shuttle available). The good sized parking lot extends all around the three floor building, which has a secluded courtyard garden at the rear, complete with outdoor pool and hot tub. Inside the principal facilities are a fitness center, convenience store, meeting space for up to 100 people, and a cafe which serves dinner & evening drinks (weekdays only). Free hot breakfast is provided every morning, however, and there are several restaurants within walking distance.

One of the more recent additions to Salt Lake City airport accommodation is the SpringHill Suites by Marriott, another of the group of hotels a short distance west of the terminals, by I-80 exit 114 - 6 miles from the city center. The hotel is large (5 floors, 143 rooms) and elegant, providing free breakfast buffet, free internet access, free 24 hour airport shuttle, guest laundry, pool/fitness center and a meeting room. The studio suites all have an 37" HD TV, sofa bed and a kitchenette equipped with sink, refrigerator and microwave.

The Clarion is a large, full service but reasonably-priced hotel of 174 rooms & suites, divided into four blocks enclosing an extensive garden with outdoor pool, and looking out across undeveloped lands to the west. The property provides the closest lodging to exit 113 of Interstate 80, and is just over 4 miles from the terminal buildings at the international airport. Complimentary amenities are parking, an airport shuttle, wi-fi and continental breakfast. There is one restaurant on-site, open all day; room service is available, as are all the usual facilities for business and meetings.

One of the closest Salt Lake City airport hotels, the Holiday Inn Express lies just 1.5 miles east of the terminal building, served by complimentary shuttle. The hotel sits just off North Temple Street, which leads to Temple Square and the center of Salt Lake City after another 3.5 miles. The Holiday Inn Express offers 92 large, clean rooms, a 24 hour business center and a good quality free hot breakfast. Leisure amenities comprise an indoor pool, hot tub, health & fitness center and spa. A 740 square foot meeting room is available for business guests.

Open 2018, the Tru by Hilton is part of the group of hotels beside Interstate 80 at the 5600 W intersection (exit 113), 4 miles west of the international airport and surrounded by a business park, yet less than a mile from the start of open desert further west. Four complimentary amenities at the affordable, pet friendly hotel are wi-fi, airport transportation, hot breakfast and a 24 hour business center. Guests are within half a mile of around a dozen restaurants.

Best Western Plus Airport Inn is one of the many mid-range hotels serving Salt Lake City International Airport, located, like most of the others, beside I-80 exit 113, four miles from the terminal buildings. Nearby are a few restaurants, while other facilities can be found a few miles east towards the city center. The hotel has three floors and 81 elegantly-furnished rooms containing many amenities including a microwave & refrigerator. Free full breakfast is provided each morning; also available are meeting space, a business center, convenience store and indoor pool.

Another modern hotel on the west side of Salt Lake City International Airport, the Fairfield Inn provides good quality accommodation to airline passengers or those traveling along I-80 - the hotel is one of the first to greet those arriving on the interstate from the west. It offers free hot breakfast, free airport shuttle (6 am to 11 pm), a fitness room, convenience store and an indoor pool/hot tub. The attached Perkins Cafe and Bakery is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and evening drinks. The property will rebrand as Spark by Hilton Salt Lake City Airport, late 2024.

The Comfort Inn is a spring 2018 addition to the large group of Salt Lake City Airport hotels at I-80 exit 113 - on the north side of the interstate, next to a business park that also contains a few restaurants. The airport is 4 miles away, served by complimentary shuttle. while in the other direction, the freeway reaches Great Salt Lake State Park after 11 miles. The hotel has all the expected amenities, including a convenience store, business & fitness centers, meeting space and an indoor pool. Hot breakfast is complimentary.

The 1940 West North Temple station of the light rail system is right outside Park Inn Salt Lake City, enabling easy travel to area attractions. The motel faces the east side of I-215 just north of the I-80 intersection, along North Temple, 3.2 miles west of Temple Square. The international airport is 2 miles further west. The standard, limited amenities are wi-fi, an outdoor pool, guest laundry and free continental breakfast. Rooms are available with microwave & refrigerator.

Part of a small group of hotels on the east side of the international airport, adjacent to the I-215/I-80 intersection (and 2 miles from I-15), Comfort Suites Salt Lake City Airport has 104 north or south-facing rooms, all large and modern, containing a refrigerator & microwave; some have a whirlpool bath. Staff are friendly, rates quite low, and facilities are good, including a free hot breakfast, an indoor pool & hot tub, fitness center, two meeting rooms, gift shop and guest laundry.

One of a small group of hotels west of Salt Lake City airport, the Quality Inn has 59 recently renovated rooms & suites, plus the usual amenities of an outdoor pool with hot tub, fitness center, business center and free deluxe continental breakfast. A complimentary 24 hour shuttle is available to the airport, 2 miles away. The hotel is located just north of I-80 (exit 113), right at the edge of greater Salt Lake City; to the west begin the barren plains surrounding the Great Salt Lake.

Suburban Studios is part of a larger Choice Hotels property, the Clarion, and shares its facilities, including meeting/event space, a restaurant, pool, sundry store and fitness center. The apartment-style accommodations feature a full kitchen, and are primarily aimed at long stay travelers, with rate reductions for weekly and monthly visits. Breakfast and wi-fi are complimentary. Pets are welcome. The hotel is located beside I-80 at the 5600 W exit.

The Microtel Inn is just about the closest hotel to Salt Lake City Airport, separated from the runway only by a small patch of grassland and a canal, though the journey by road is 3.5 miles. The three floor property is the easternmost of a large group of hotels reached from I-80 exit 172, part of a business park, not near any facilities apart from a few restaurants. Lodging is comfortable and spacious but affordable; some rooms include a living area plus sofa bed, and a kitchenette with half size refrigerator, sink & microwave. Free continental breakfast, a business center and complimentary airport transportation are the main amenities.
