Below are 250 of the most commonly encountered flowering plant species in Red Rock Canyon NCA - follow the links for full descriptions.
Although all of the park is in the Mojave Desert, habitats are varied, since the elevation range is large - the terrain transitions from desert plains, around 2,000 feet, across the towering sandstone cliffs, to pine-clad mountains, the highest 8,154 feet. Further diversity is provided by the many narrow, sheltered canyons, drained by permanent or seasonal streams. The NCA contains around 600 plant species.
