San Antonio Airport Hotels

The Marriott is one of many hotels along loop 410, one mile west of San Antonio International Airport and 7 miles north of the downtown area. This is an upscale, 11 floor property containing nearby 400 comfortable, oversized rooms, all equipped with a microwave, refrigerator and free wi-fi. The outdoor pool is next to a terrace and patio area decorated with tropical plants, while other leisure amenities are a fitness center and whirlpool. The hotel has a restaurant, cafe, and a bar open daily until 2 am, providing room service. The meeting facilities are suitable for events of up to 450 people, cabaret or reception styles.

Crowne Plaza San Antonio Airport accommodates guests in a grand, ten floor building on the north side of loop 410, one mile east of the international airport in a busy commercial area with various other hotels and businesses. The hotel has 224 large rooms, all equipped with a kitchenettes, plus several suites and a VIP executive level. Cilantro is the on-site restaurant/lounge, serving food until 10 pm (room service available), and the many other facilities include a convenience store, outdoor pool/whirlpool, fitness center, business center and ten meeting rooms. More dining choices are provided by three adjacent restaurants.

The 284 rooms & suites at Estancia del Norte San Antonio are contained within a low rise, square shaped building centered on an elegant courtyard garden, in which are found an outdoor pool, patio with water features and al fresco dining area. The interior is decorated with a Spanish colonial theme, and the whole place has a peaceful atmosphere, despite the busy surroundings; the hotel faces the northern I-410 frontage road beside a shopping center with such stores as Ross and Barnes & Noble, and just a short walk from many more retail outlets at North Star Mall. Other highlights are a restaurant, lounge/bar, comprehensive meeting facilities and complimentary airport transportation.

With 384 rooms, the DoubleTree by Hilton is one of the largest San Antonio Airport hotels, and it has an easy-to-reach location beside I-410 at the San Pedro Avenue junction, just across from North Star Mall, also close to various other large stores. The airport is 2.6 miles east, served by complimentary shuttle. Accommodations include a selection of west-facing Junior Suites, featuring a separate living area, upgraded bedding and a pull-out sofa. All-day, onsite dining is available at Tex's Grill, while the adjacent sports bar is open until midnight. The business center and fitness center are both open 24 hours. Guest rooms are contained within a 13 story tower, and the large complex also includes 16,000 sq ft of meeting space and an enclosed, courtyard garden with outdoor pool.

The easternmost of two Courtyard hotels near San Antonio International Airport provides a little oasis of calm amidst the surrounding freeways and industrial estates; the tree-lined building is centered on a pleasant courtyard garden with pool, hot tub & gazebo, and the place is generally quiet despite the proximity to the airport flight path. Services at the 133 room hotel include complimentary 24 hour airport shuttle, fitness center, 2 meeting rooms and a cafe serving breakfast; for other meals there are a few restaurants nearby though a much better selection is found 2 miles west around the North Star Mall.

Right next to a sister property (the Fairfield Inn) stands another Marriott San Antonio airport hotel, the Courtyard - a four floor building alongside I-410 close to the junction with US 281, though set back a little from the highway so its rooms are nice and quiet. The hotel is less than half a mile from the North Star Mall and other nearby shops and restaurants; the airport is a mile east and downtown San Antonio 8 miles south. The staff are efficient, and the 78 rooms, although not particularly new, are clean and well maintained. The on-site Bistro restaurant is open for breakfast (not free) and dinner, while for leisure the hotel offers a fitness center, indoor pool and whirlpool.

Comfortable, spacious accommodation is on offer at the Residence Inn San Antonio Airport, an all-suite hotel on the south side of I-410, 2 miles from the international airport. The inn caters for large groups, extended stay travelers or those needing extra space and facilities, which include a full kitchen, oversized work desk, pull-out sofa bed, and separate living/sleeping areas. Free hot breakfast is served each morning, plus a free manager's reception in the evenings; for those cooking on-site the nearest food supermarket is HEB, a few blocks south along New Braunfels Avenue. The hotel's leisure amenities are an outdoor pool, hot tub and fitness center.

Staybridge Suites San Antonio Airport offers 136 suites on 9 floors, located one mile west of the airport at along Loop 410. Several sizes and configuration of suite are available, though all share the facilities of a full kitchen with dishwasher, DVD player, ironing facilities, two TVs and complimentary buffet breakfast. For outside dining there are 2 restaurants adjacent to the hotel, which also has an outdoor pool, convenience store and fitness center. The building is angled away from the freeway, on the south side, so rooms at the rear are the quietest.

The Embassy Suites has the usual design for this upscale, all-suite/extended stay brand; a tall building centered around a floor-to-ceiling atrium lobby, the 162 rooms accessed by corridors all around the perimeter, giving views down to the water features, tropical plants and seating/dining areas. Complimentary amenities include airport transportation, wi-fi (for some room packages), hot breakfast and evening receptions; other meals can be purchased from Ellington's Restaurant, on the premises, or from several other nearby outlets. The hotel is just about the closest to the airport, located 1.2 miles away, on the east side of US 281. The usual three recreation facilities of a pool (indoor), hot tub and fitness center are available, plus meeting space.

Complimentary amenities at Homewood Suites San Antonio Airport (open summer 2016) include daily hot breakfast, evening receptions (Mon-Thu), grocery shopping service, and transportation to the international airport and other destinations within a three mile radius. The all-suite hotel is situated at the edge of a business district along the northern I-410 frontage road, just over one mile east of the airport and within walking distance of a selection of restaurants, on the opposite side of the freeway. All accommodations contain a fully equipped kitchen. The hotel has a snack shop, fitness center and outdoor pool.

The Hilton Garden Inn is surrounded by business/industrial premises on the east side of San Antonio Airport, a 1.6 mile drive from the terminal buildings, but is still within walking distance of a good number of restaurants, mostly along Broadway Street, on the opposite (south) side of I-410. Hot breakfast is available onsite, and the hotel also has a lobby bar, open from 5 to 10 pm, Mon-Thu. A complimentary shuttle serves the airport and other locations within a 5 mile radius, such as North Star Mall, McAllister Park and Quarry Golf Club. The city center is 9 miles south along US 281. Guests can relax at the indoor pool, whirlpool and fitness center. The hotel opened spring 2017, after conversion from another brand.

The Hilton Garden Inn is one of comparatively few hotels on the north side of San Antonio Airport, and benefits from a rather quieter location than the properties further south. The four floor building enjoys wooded surroundings along a side road, close to but out-of-sight from US 281. Nearby are several restaurants and small shops, with a few larger stores on the far side of the freeway. The hotel has its own restaurant, attractively positioned in the atrium lobby, and open for dinner, lunch, breakfast & evening room service. Also available are a lounge/bar, 24 hour convenience store, pool, fitness/business centers and meeting space for 65 people. Free airport transportation is offered.

1.3 miles by road from San Antonio Airport (served by courtesy shuttle), the Hampton Inn is a typically large, modern and well managed property of 106 rooms, including a selection of studio suites (one king or two queen beds), which have a sofa bed, microwave, refrigerator and wet bar. Accommodations face south, looking out across several other hotels and I-410, or north, with views of a wooded, partly residential neighborhood. Free hot breakfast is provided, available in a take-out version for people in a hurry. The hotel also offers all the usual meetings, business and leisure facilities. There are several restaurants within walking distance, mostly on the far side of the freeway.

The TownePlace Suites by Marriott is one of the newer hotels near San Antonio Airport, built next to the elevated carriageways of the I-410/US 281 interchange, one mile southwest of the terminal buildings. The property has a particularly good reputation, for its cleanliness, friendly staff, quality of the free hot breakfast, and handy location - a shopping center with restaurants is one block south, the larger stores of North Star Mall are a mile west, and the city center is an easy 7 mile drive south. The hotel has a fitness center, outdoor heated pool, bbq area, guest laundry, and 106 suites featuring a full kitchen. Free airport shuttle is provided.

The recently built SpringHill Suites by Marriott is just about the closest hotel to San Antonio International Airport, located one mile south of the terminals along the I-410 frontage road (south side), one block from US 281. The building is bright and modern; it contains 116 studio suites, featuring subtle blue/green decor, a large work desk, large screen TV, luxurious bedding and a pantry (microwave, sink, refrigerator, coffee maker). Complimentary items include parking, airport shuttle, internet access and buffet breakfast. A sun deck, indoor pool and fitness center are available for relaxation.

2.5 miles west of San Antonio along I-410, the Aloft is a modern, stylish hotel of 141 loft-style, pet friendly rooms, featuring walk-in showers, luxury platform beds, microwaves, refrigerators and free high-speed wi-fi. 24 hour dining is available from the pantry/marketplace, while a bar serves light meals and evening drinks. The hotel has a fitness center and outdoor pool, and operates a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport. In the vicinity are shopping, dining and various other businesses.

The 154 room Holiday Inn Express San Antonio Airport rises 10 stories above the suburbs of north San Antonio, located along the northern Loop 410 frontage road, one block west of the junction with US 281 and a mile from the airport. A complimentary shuttle is offered to the airport and other nearby areas including the North Star shopping mall. The hotel serves free hot breakfast buffet and is within a block of a small selection of restaurants. Leisure amenities are an outdoor pool, a hot tub and a fitness center.

Candlewood Suites San Antonio Airport occupies a small site on a side street near the Isom Road intersection with US 281; a relatively quiet location yet just 1.3 miles by road from the international airport. The neighborhood has a mixture of residential and business premises, plus a few restaurants - many more can be found along the I-410 corridor 2 miles south. The hotel features affordable, all-suite lodging; the accommodations (studio or one bedroom layouts) have extra living space, a sofa bed, a microwave and a refrigerator. Microwavable meals and other items can be purchased from a 24 hour market, and bbq grills by the outdoor gazebo provide an alternative to in-room cooking. Other amenities include a pool and lending locker.

The SureStay Plus Hotel has a good range of amenities, principally an outdoor pool, 24 hour business center, free hot breakfast, free wi-fi and a complimentary shuttle to/from San Antonio Airport, 2.4 miles southeast. All guest rooms are equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and safe. The best choice of restaurants is 1.3 miles west, around Parliament Square shopping center. The hotel is reached via the northwestern US 281 frontage road, and it adjoins a small business park, in an otherwise residential neighborhood.

Rooms at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott San Antonio Airport are a little on the small side but rates are reasonable and the location is good, alongside the 410 freeway and a short walk from the 140-store North Star Mall. The airport is just over a mile away, served by free shuttle (6 am to 10 pm). All the expected amenities are present, including free buffet breakfast (with a few hot items), guest laundry, free parking, indoor pool, hot tub and fitness center.

Three miles north of San Antonio International Airport, the Comfort Suites Airport North is an all suite hotel equipped with gift shop, convenience store, business center, guest laundry facilities and meeting space for up to 42 people, and is located on the east side of US 281 just north of the Bitters Road exit. This is a busy commercial area with many company buildings within half a mile - and also, at least ten restaurants. Complimentary items include an airport shuttle, full breakfast and all-day coffee. The suites feature luxury bedding, a microwave and a refrigerator.

One mile east of San Antonio airport, the Spark by Hilton is situated in a partly residential district just south of the 410 loop road, next to the Broadway Street exit. A courtesy airport shuttle is available, and other amenities include an outdoor pool, convenience store, fitness center, free breakfast, business center and guest laundry. Downtown San Antonio is 8 miles south along US 281. The place enjoys a quiet location, partly enclosed by trees, along a side road 600 feet from the freeway.

The Days Inn is part of the main group of San Antonio Airport hotels, centered on the busy intersection of I-410 and US 281. The refrigerator-equipped guest rooms face east or west, looking along the freeway corridor, and are entered via interior corridors. The hotel has a secluded outdoor pool/hot tub at the rear, facing a quiet back street, and it provides free continental breakfast. Also complimentary is a shuttle service to the airport, one mile north. The immediate surroundings are occupied by business premises; the nearest restaurants are half a mile east along Broadway Street.
