Butterfly Canyon is a little-known drainage on the Navajo reservation of north Arizona, forming narrow passageways through reddish rocks similar in color and form to nearby Antelope Canyon. The narrows are shallow at first and separated by open sections, before a 200 foot dryfall leads to a much longer and deeper slot, eventually dropping down by several sheer falls. Unfortunately access has not been permitted since 1998, by the local Kaibeto Chapter of the Navajo Reservation, but the canyon may one day be accessible again.
