Dead Horse Point State Park sits at the edge of the Island in the Sky plateau, overlooking several bends of the Colorado River and various tributary canyons, all surrounded by cliffs and benches of dark red sandstone; one of the most spectacular views in the state. The park is 30 miles from Moab in southeast Utah, and it has a small campground plus a network of level trails, some leading to alternative, less visited overlooks.
